§ About EstatePacket
Built for the work paralegals already do.
EstatePacket is a Draft Estate Packet generator for California trusts & estates firms — the asset-discovery phase of probate, in two to three minutes, with a citation under every line.
The asset hunt is the worst part of probate, and nobody likes doing it.
A California probate inventory typically takes 60 to 200 hours of paralegal time. The work is not interesting and it is not creative — it is calling thirty banks, searching fifty separate state unclaimed-property portals, and pulling deeds at each county where the decedent owned property.
Roughly $70 billion sits unclaimed in U.S. state property funds because the search never finishes. Families lose money. Firms eat margin. And the parts of the workflow that are public records — the parts that can be done by software — are the parts that get skipped first when the matter is tight on hours.
We do that piece. The output is an attorney-reviewable draft, not a court filing.
One founder, every demo, until that stops scaling.
The team is intentionally small. Every demo is run by the founder. Every line of the Draft Estate Packet template was reviewed by hand against California probate Form DE-160 and DE-161 conventions. We do not pretend to have a customer success team yet.
We are based in Pasadena, California. The product is California-only on purpose: the data plumbing for unclaimed property funds, broker registries, securities filings, and county recorders is the actual moat, and trying to ship multi-state coverage before the California build is solid is how products in this space have failed before.
An honest roadmap, in months not quarters.
Below is what's actually planned. Items are listed in the order we expect to ship them, not in the order that sounds most impressive.
- Now
- California, 1 live source (MissingMoney.com, CA-scoped), 3 cached snapshots (FINRA, SEC EDGAR, Los Angeles County Recorder).
- Next 30 days
- Live FINRA + SEC EDGAR queries. Replacement of the LA County synthesized snapshot with a paid bulk-data integration once a vendor is selected.
- Next 90 days
- Texas, then Florida. Both have probate volumes comparable to California and a paralegal workflow we've already mapped.
- Later
- New York. Multi-county recorder coverage inside California. Adjacent matter types — divorce discovery, fraud examiner workflows, dementia financial-planning intake — but only after the T&E wedge is solid.
We're running every demo personally. Pick a slot.
Thirty minutes. Tell us what your asset-discovery process actually looks like. Worst case you give us feedback. Best case we save your paralegals sixty hours a month.
